Welcome to the Garden Club of Amherst

The Garden Club of Amherst fosters and supports its members’ interests in everything pertaining to gardens, and shows active concern for our local area’s beautification and natural resource preservation. Our focus, while grounded in the local, also extends to include engagement with similar state and national issues and conversations.

Our signature event, the Annual Plant Sale on the Amherst Common, raises funds for our beautification and conservation efforts and other donations to the community. The Plant Sale is held in May and is our major source of funds for all the donations we make. There is a lot for everyone to do and it’s an important event for work, fun, camaraderie, and our visibility in town.

Meetings, held from January through October, are generally the last Wednesday of the month, with a 2:30pm social time, 3:00pm program, and 4:00pm business meeting.

Because the club chooses to remain small, it is important that all members participate and stay involved to the best of their abilities. Of course, changes in health, work commitments, and family situations or travel plans may limit the time and energy a member has for the club.
