The purpose of the Garden Club of Amherst is to foster the interests of its members in everything pertaining to gardens, and to show active concern for the beautification of the local area and for the preservation of its natural resources, extending this concern to similar state and national issues.
Because the club chooses to remain small, it is important that all members participate and stay involved to the best of their abilities. Of course, changes in health, work commitments, and family situations or travel plans may limit the time and energy a member has for the club.
Meetings, held from January through October, are generally the last Wednesday of the month, with a 2:30pm social time, 3:00pm program, and 4:00pm business meeting.
The Plant Sale is held in May and is our major source of funds for all the donations we make. There is a lot for everyone to do and it’s an important event for work, fun, camaraderie, and our visibility in town.
